Tuscan Biking, Cooking, and Wine

Enjoy biking the rolling hills of the Chianti Region while experiencing all the sights and sounds of the area. You will sample some of Chianti's premier wines and visit the wineries themselves. Your gastronomical adventure starts in the beautiful hamlet of Castellina in Chianti. You will visit the open markets of Chianti to buy ingredients for your cooking extravaganza. Your adventure takes you to Siena where you will be trained in the art of Sienese gastronomical secrets.

Your accomodation will be at the beautiful Hotel Casafrassi, 4 star, in Castellina in Chianti. A buffet breakfast is served daily.

A car rental is included with pickups and dropoffs in Florence, Rome, Milan, Bologna.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Chianti
Arrival of the clients in Tuscany, pick up their rental car and transfer to Hotel Casafrassi cat. 4* located in Castellina in Chianti (accommodation in hotel in double room in BB)
Lunch and dinner at leisure
Overnight in Hotel Casafrassi

Day 2 - Discovering the Beautiful Chianti Area By Bike
American Breakfast in hotel
At 10.00 a.m. meeting with local assistant in hotel to pick up the mountain bikes and to receive maps of the area and for the different biking tours.
At 11.00 a.m. departure by bikes from the hotel towards Castellina in Chianti
The biking tour will include the biking arrival in Castellina in Chianti.
Lunch at leisure in the village
At 12.30 p.m. departure from Castellina to Az.Agr. Castellare.
Visit and wine tasting in Az. Agr. Castellare ( 3 wines + salami & cheese)
Biking tour of ca. 25 km all asphalted
Return to hotel. Our local assistant will pick up the bikes in hotel.
Dinner at leisure & overnight in Hotel Casafrassi

Day 3 - Cooking Class
American Breakfast in Hotel
Depart with your own car toward Castellina in Chianti and at 09.00 a.m. meet in front of the pharmacy of Castellina in Chianti with Chef Laura
You will then go shopping in the centre of the village (for fresh produce to use for the cooking class) and after you will drive together to the wine farm where the cooking course will take place
You will prepare a mix of appetizers, 2 pasta course, 1 main course with vegetables and a dessert. After the cooking class you will enjoy the lunch (drinks included) based with the courses prepared. Return to hotel
Dinner at leisure and overnight in Hotel Casafrassi.

Day 4 - Discovering the Chianti Area
American Breakfast in Hotel.
Meet at 09.00 a.m. with local guide and depart together with your own car toward Radda in Chianti. Visit the village of Radda then visit Castello di Volpaia and the village with its famous winery. Visit of the cellars and wine tasting. Lunch at leisure in Volpaia.
After lunch the tour will continue with a visit of Castello di Brolio, the most famous Castle in Chianti. Visit of the cellars, wine tasting, and visit of the castle (outside the gardens). Return to hotel.
Dinner at leisure and overnight in Hotel Casafrassi

Day 5 - Cooking Class
American Breakfast in Hotel
Depart with your own car toward Siena (maps provided) to meet Mrs Lella at her Cooking School. You will learn Sienese gastronomical secrets at this cooking course, with the mastery of traditional recipes or the region. You will prepare a mix of appetizers, a pasta course, a main course with vegetable and dessert, followed by the lunch--drinks included.
Spend the rest of the day at your leisure to visit Siena city centre on your own. Go shopping, and enjoy the coffee houses, markets and history of Siena.
Return to hotel, dinner at leisure & overnight in Hotel Casafrassi

Day 6 - Montalcino & Pienza
American Breakfast in hotel.
Meet at 09.00 a.m. in the hotel with your guide and depart together in your car toward the Val d’ orcia Valley, the famous country side where the Brunello wine is produced. Visit Pienza. Lunch at leisure in Pienza.
Afternoon visit of Montalcino followed by visit and wine tasting at Castello Banfi, one of the most famous Brunello Wine producers, buying wine is a must.
Return to hotel and dinner at leisure
Overnight in Hotel Casafrassi

Day 7 - Day at Leisure
American Breakfast in Hotel.
Personaly explore the chianti area.
Day at leisure for relaxation. Lunch & dinner at leisure.
Overnight in Hotel Casafrassi.

Day 8 - Departure
American Breakfast in Hotel.
Departure & end of services.
Return car rental to pre-determined location.
